A lone vixen slowly made her way through the dark forest. Her dial held at half mast and her orbs narrowed in thought. She was lost, but not concerned with that at the moment. She had much to think about, and finding her way back to the fields could wait until later, once she had solved her many problems.
On any other day she would be walking far quieter and would be watching her surroundings for threats. She would have noticed that the forest was dark and far quieter then any safe, happy wood lands should be, but not today. Today it was raining, and that was all she needed to keep herself relaxed. She hadn’t been dubbed Rain Dance on accident. She had loved the rain and the power of a dangerous storm since she was young. Now she was excited by each roll of thunder and flash of fire that lit the sky. She danced when the wind howled with anger, not a dance of fear, but of respect and excitement.
The rain today was sluggish and cool, it helped her stay relaxed and think, and she had much to think about. Her parents, her father in particular had run her out of the herd; she didn’t make a good slave like her mother. Her father was disgusted by the way she cared for her mother and her mother didn’t approve of her because she was stubborn and nasty to strangers. She valued distance and trusted no one until they had proven themselves to her. She probably could have overcome that small flaw in her personality and joined the lights…if that had been her only flaw.
